About Dentures

Dentures are removable prosthetic appliances designed to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Complete dentures are used when all teeth in a jaw are missing, whereas partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, anchoring onto them for stability. Modern dentures are lightweight, comfortable, and resemble natural gums and teeth.

At Grace Dental Care, we offer premium denture options, including flexible dentures (Valplast) that have no metal clasps, making them virtually invisible. We take high-precision impressions to ensure a snug, comfortable fit that prevents slipping. For patients wanting maximum stability, we also provide implant-supported dentures that lock firmly into place.

Treatment FAQs

It typically takes 2 to 4 weeks to adjust to new dentures. Initially, you may feel excess saliva, mild muscle soreness, and difficulty speaking or eating. This is normal and subsides as your cheeks and tongue learn to hold them.
Yes, but you must practice. Start with soft foods cut into small pieces. Chew slowly using both sides of your mouth to prevent the denture from tipping. Avoid very sticky or extremely hard foods.
A well-fitting denture should stay in place using natural suction (for upper dentures) and muscle control. However, adhesives can be used to improve stability and confidence, especially for lower dentures which have less suction.
Dentures last between 5 to 7 years. Because your jawbone and gums naturally shrink over time without tooth roots, the denture will become loose and need to be relined, rebased, or replaced.
