What Is Full Mouth Rehabilitation?

Full Mouth Rehabilitation (FMR), also known as full mouth reconstruction, is a comprehensive dental treatment plan that restores all teeth in both the upper and lower jaws simultaneously. It is designed for patients with extensive tooth wear, multiple missing or broken teeth, decayed teeth, and severe bite collapse. Rather than fixing teeth individually, FMR looks at the entire oral system as a whole.

At Grace Dental Care, we plan your FMR using digital scans, X-rays, and bite simulators. Our specialists combine crowns, bridges, dental implants, veneers, and root canals in a phased, coordinated approach. The goal is to establish a correct bite, restore normal chewing force, eliminate jaw joint pain (TMJ), and create a beautiful, natural-looking smile that lasts.

Signs You May Need This Treatment

If you identify with any of the following, a clinical consultation is strongly recommended.

Multiple Missing TeethGaps across several areas of the mouth making chewing difficult and painful.
Severely Worn-Down TeethTeeth ground down to short stumps due to chronic bruxism (clenching) or acid erosion.
Frequent Jaw Joint (TMJ) PainChronic jaw clicking, headaches, or muscle pain caused by a collapsed bite.
Loose or Shifting TeethAdvanced decay or gum disease causing multiple teeth to become unstable.
Sunken Facial AppearanceLoss of tooth height and volume causing cheeks and lips to sink, accelerating ageing.
Inability to Eat ComfortablyAvoiding hard, fibrous, or hot/cold foods because biting is painful or inefficient.

Treatment FAQs

No. While FMR is a comprehensive treatment, it is divided into manageable phases. Any surgical procedures (like implants) or preparations are performed under deep local anaesthesia. Post-treatment soreness is normal but well-controlled with medication.
The timeline varies between 2 to 6 months. It depends on whether you need healing time (e.g., 3 months for implants to fuse with bone) before placing final crowns. We provide temporary teeth during the entire process so you are never toothless.
With premium materials (Zirconia and Titanium) and excellent oral hygiene, your restorations can last 15 to 25+ years, and implants can last a lifetime. Regular cleanings and wearing a night guard are crucial to extend longevity.
Dentures are removable, sit on the gums, and offer only 20% of chewing force. FMR uses implants and crowns that are fixed (non-removable) to your jawbone, behaving exactly like natural teeth and restoring 95-100% chewing force.
