About Veneers

Dental veneers are ultra-thin shells, custom-made of E.max glass-ceramic, porcelain, or composite resin, that are bonded to the front surface of teeth. They are designed to correct cosmetic defects such as severe discolouration, chips, uneven sizes, gaps, and mild crowding. Veneers require very conservative tooth preparation compared to crowns.

At Grace Dental Care, we specialise in porcelain veneers that mimic the natural light-reflecting properties of tooth enamel. With E.max porcelain veneers, we shave a tiny 0.3mm to 0.5mm layer of enamel, ensuring the process is highly conservative and painless. The result is a highly durable, stain-resistant, and dazzlingly symmetrical smile completed in just 2 clinic visits.

Aftercare & Recovery Tips

Following these instructions carefully will maximize your treatment success and speed up healing.

1
Use a Non-Abrasive PasteAvoid whitening toothpastes containing harsh abrasives that can scratch the polished veneer surface.
2
Wear a Custom Night GuardA soft night guard is highly recommended to protect your veneers from accidental grinding forces during sleep.
3
Avoid Biting Hard ObjectsDo not bite nails, chew ice, open plastic packaging, or chew bones using your veneered front teeth.
4
Floss Daily with CareVeneers do not protect the back of the tooth. Flossing daily prevents cavities at the margins.
5
Limit Hard Foods initiallyAvoid biting directly into hard apples or raw carrots. Cut them into bite-sized pieces instead.
6
6-Monthly Check-upsHave our dentist inspect the veneer borders and polish them at your routine check-ups.

Treatment FAQs

No. The tooth preparation is performed under local anaesthetic, so you will feel no pain. After the procedure, you may feel mild sensitivity to hot or cold for 24–48 hours, which is normal and subsides quickly.
Composite veneers are applied directly in a single visit and are cheaper, but they stain over time and last 3–5 years. Porcelain (E.max) veneers are made in a laboratory, are completely stain-resistant, look far more natural, and last 10–15+ years.
Because a thin layer of enamel is shaven off for porcelain veneers, the process is permanent and irreversible. The teeth will always need to be covered by veneers or crowns. However, "no-prep" composite veneers do not require enamel shaving and are reversible.
No. Premium E.max porcelain veneers are non-porous and highly resistant to stains. Coffee, tea, and red wine will not discolour them, unlike natural teeth or composite bonding. You can enjoy your favourite beverages without worry.
